Dear friends of Travel Notebooks, today we bring you a very special episode dedicated to the great Teresa Berganza. To me, Teresa was more than a singer—she was a true artist who lived and breathed music. From her very first moment on stage, she left an indelible mark on the world of music.

I remember meeting Teresa in San Lorenzo del Escorial, a place rich in history and art. Through my dear friend and musician José Miguel Moreno, I had the chance to work with her. From our first meeting, her warmth and professionalism deeply impressed me. Teresa was a woman who explored all genres, from opera to chamber music, and she was always seeking new ways to incorporate the guitar into her repertoire.

Our relationship grew stronger over the years, through long conversations, rehearsals, and concerts. One of the most memorable moments was the concert we finally gave in Paris, after the frustration of a previous cancellation. Teresa always knew how to connect with the audience, and her ability to choose repertoire and manage encores was admirable.

Throughout our collaboration, Teresa opened doors I could never have imagined, allowing me to grow as a composer and musician. Her dedication and respect for music are truly inspiring, and her legacy lives on in every note she sang.

This video is just the beginning of a series dedicated to Teresa Berganza, where I’ll share more anecdotes and memories from our musical journey together. Don’t miss it!
