Ástor Piazzolla (1921 – 1992) fue un bandoneonista y compositor argentino considerado uno de los músicos más importantes del siglo XX​ y uno de los compositores más importantes de tango en todo el mundo.

His works revolutionized traditional tango in a new style called new tango or avant-garde tango, incorporating elements of jazz and classical music.

Eduardo Sainz de la Maza (1903 - 1982) was a Spanish guitarist, composer and teacher.

Brother of the also guitarist Regino Sainz de la Maza, he specialized in compositions for this instrument. According to Thomas Schmitt, he wanted to expand the guitar repertoire with the contributions of jazz and impressionism.

Joaquín Rodrigo Joaquín Rodrigo composed it for guitar in the summer of 1938. The title means "In the wheat fields" “This work could be interpreted not only as a vivid evocation of the summer landscape, but also as a homecoming song in which the Spanish national instrument suddenly became one of Rodrigo's most intimately expressive voices.” It was dedicated to the guitarist Narciso Yepesand premiered by Regino Saínz de la Maza.

Tango composition by Astor Piazzolla, arranged for classical guitar by José María Gallardo del ReyIn 1954 Piazzolla received a scholarship of the Conservatorio de París and due to lack of opportunities in his country, he decided to travel to France together with his wife, 2 childrens and parents. Soon he resigned of the scholarship and began to study with the renowned musicologist Nadia Boulanger.
